A man who spiked treats with sedative and gave them to minors at a youth camp in Leicestershire has pleaded guilty to sexual crimes against two boys both nine and 10.
The accused was taken into custody after eight minors and a grown-up fell ill at the location in July.
The 76-year-old, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a multiple criminal counts when he stood at the judicial center on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he disputed one particular crime he was accused of, which was involving a young boy.
The accused was remanded in custody before a subsequent court date on November 28th.
'Treat game'
The legal representative, prosecuting, described Ruben's offending to the legal proceedings.
She stated his those affected were under-privileged children who were participating in a summer program which he operated.
The defendant conducted a "candy game" with the minors, the prosecutor stated, in which he would access the children's bedrooms when they were getting ready for bed and ask them to eat sweets "as quickly as they can".
She informed the proceedings the defendant had conducted this practice with the young males "for many years", and minors had previously fallen ill the following morning.
She stated the defendant had been capable of justifying this for many years as the youngsters being "overstimulated by activities", until his family member had suspicions in July 2025.
Mrs Prior KC continued: "In the summer" his family member had concerns about what was going on, for good reason.
"They resolved" to investigate in the man's possessions."
The legal counsel explained objects including baby oil, Vaseline and syringes were located, and his stepson contacted the authorities about his suspicions.
She said the man went on to conduct the "candy game" with six youngsters that night - July 26th - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.
"Authorities" had not responded by that stage," she stated further.
The regulatory agency, the investigative body, had stated that it was examining law enforcement's management of the events.
Mrs Prior said the children were having difficulty walking due to their condition, so the stepson called the law enforcement again.
She stated the defendant then played the "candy game" in a room of five minors.
