Lando Norris Leads Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has beaten his teammate at all of the previous five race weekends.
Lando Norris edged out team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri for the fastest time in the final moments of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The British racer, who seized the championship lead from Piastri by just one point after winning in Mexico City a fortnight back, topped the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Earlier in the session, Oscar Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair throughout the hour before the sprint shootout due at 6:30 PM GMT.
Max Verstappen, the only other driver in realistic title contention, sitting with a 36-point deficit behind Norris, was classified in P17 as his Red Bull team opted for a different programme.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to crash, albeit lightly, when he spun at corner four early in the session.
Tsunoda spun out over the curbs on exit before rotating through the escape zone, and was lucky to escape with just a slight brush of the fence.
Ferrari's the seven-time champion also spun, at the very end of the practice, spinning around through the high-speed Mergulho turn approaching the final corner on to the start-finish straight.
The seven-time champion finished practice in 19th, trailing team-mate Charles Leclerc.
Norris and Piastri were well clear of the other competitors, with the German's Sauber P3, 0.619 seconds behind the Australian's time.
The Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto in front of the Mercedes of Russell and Alpine's Gasly and the Williams of Sainz.
